Emma Roberts Replacing Ashley Greene in 'Scream 4'

The producers and directors of “Scream 4″ have cast Emma Roberts as the leading lady in the reboot of the horror franchise. Roberts beat out several other leading ladies in Hollywood for the role, including Ashley Greene (“Twilight”), Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”), and Rory Culkin (“Twelve”).

Wes Craven is returning to direct the fourth installment in the famous horror franchise and veteran script writer Kevin Williamson is also back on board. Greene was in line to take the lead role but her deal fell through at the last minute. That allowed Roberts to step into the role of Jill, the cousin of original “Scream” star Neve Campbell in the new film. Jill will be the heroine in the new version of the “Scream” movies.

The 19 year old Roberts has previously starred in “Unfabulous” on Nickelodeon, a feature film version of “Nancy Drew”, and most recently in New Line Cinema’s romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day”. The film will begin shooting in June in Michigan.
