Summit Clears Up 'Eclipse' DVD and 'Breaking Dawn' Rumors

We’ve just received some rumor control from Summit. Read all they have to say below:

1) There is only one casting director working on THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN films right now – Deborah Zane. As of right now no local auditions are being held. If Deborah’s name is not attached to it in some form or another, it is not legitimate. She is also not putting out nationwide casting notices. Once again – as was the case with NEW MOON and ECLIPSE – any ads you see are completely false. She has set up an e-mail address specifically for casting inquiries (BreakingDawnCast@gmail.com).

2) Lexicon touched base regarding a rumor about Renesmee’s name changing in BREAKING DAWN. It is FALSE.

3) Twi Examiner asked about Riley’s appearance in BREAKING DAWN because it was listed on Xavier’s IMDb page. Riley will not appear in the BREAKING DAWN films. It is a rumor.

4) Also not confirmed is anything you have heard about the US release date of the ECLIPSE DVD. We have not announced it yet, so unless it is international and confirmed by an international distributor, it is a rumor.

Summit Has Set Camp-Out Dates for 'Eclipse' Premiere

Aside from the “Harry Potter” franchise, there’s rarely a movie release that requires an official statement about when fans can begin camping out.

As you may have heard, camping is permitted for the “Eclipse” red carpet premiere at the Nokia Theater at LA Live beginning June 21st at 6AM PT. It has also been noted that people cannot wait in line to start the official camping out, which would (and will) no doubt happen with this fandom.

For the “New Moon” premiere, fans and fan sites started camping out about five days before the official red carpet premiere. FIVE DAYS! There are a lot of questions and thoughts that enter my mind: Food, liquid (and therefore bathroom breaks) and showers. I’m assuming you camp out with others and take turns “on guard” while the rest take care of their needs.

Sure, people who wait the longest will likely get the best spot and chance at meeting the cast, but is it worth it? Would you rather represent the fandom at your best, or in a likely exhausted, maybe run down state after sleeping outside for five days? I’d like to hear in the comments below what your opinion is on the subject, especially if you’ve camped out before.

Summit's Reaction to Eclipse Re-Shoot Drama

The close-knit Twilight community went dark yesterday, when an ugly rumor plagued their seemingly perfect world. If you are familiar with the book series, you are aware that author Stephenie Meyer created a magical and romantic setting in a meadow where Bella and Edward would go to be alone. When the rumors hit that those scenes were going to be altered fans reacted. To the Twilight fans, these rumors set fire to this whimsical place held sacred to them.

With that said, the wild spreading rumors did have some truth, though it was totally twisted and taken out of context. It is true that some of the main cast is being called back for re-shoots before the film goes to the street, but it is not as bad as the bullying bloggers made you believe. A rep from Summit Entertainment is setting the record straight, claiming "very little" needs to be altered before The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens June 30th.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is set to open nationwide in two months. But before the film comes to the big screen some of the actors are being called back to Vancouver for re-shoots. Yesterday, the Twilight community experienced a bit of drama when bloggers ran with an untrue story about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart needing to re-shoot the meadow scene. A rep from Summit commented, "None of the meadow or action scenes are being reshot." Some also feared that the plot would deviate from the hit book series, which is completely untrue.

Adding fuel to the fire, bloggers went on to say that these re-shoots were unplanned misleading people to question the quality of the upcoming film. Once again, Summit spoke up to clear the air stating, "The reshoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films." With the re-shoot on the books, the only thing that is missing are the actors. The studio is feverishly working out scheduling details to get some of the cast members to Canada for a few days in order to clean up some scenes.
