Kellan Lutz Jokes About 'Breaking Dawn' Birthing Scene

Let the countdown begin. Cameras are pretty close to rolling on Breaking Dawn.

"We start sometime in October and go all the way through to late April," Kellan Lutz says. "I just did a [wardrobe fitting] and a contact lenses test."

As for that much anticipated, hard-to-imagine birthing scene...

Lutz cracked, "I think they should show it and have Emmett in the background laughing."

Joking aside, Lutz says he knows what director Bill Condon has planned for the potentially gory sequence. "I love the way that they're showing it," he said. "I really thought that was going to be really a tough thing to show."

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg recently told us the birth of baby Renesmee won't necessarily be gruesome. "I don't think it's about the amount of blood you show," she said. "It's about the intensity of it. It's on their faces. It's all from Bella's point of view when you're seeing what's going. It should feel visceral. I think it's going to be pretty intense."

'Breaking Dawn' Production Schedule Confirmed

Over the past few days, rumors about Breaking Dawn’s production have picked up as filming on the final installment of The Twilight Saga nears.

While some speculation about casting — and alleged “delays” — is far from true, a reported timetable for work on the films is accurate.

A source close to the production confirms to Gossip Cop that filming will begin in November (as we reported last week) and extend until roughly March 15.

Although the expansive nature of Bill Condon’s two-parter (and size of his cast) means there could be minor schedule tweaks, the timetable is set.

'Breaking Dawn' Part 2 Will Be 3-D!!

The much anticipated casting and auditions process for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" is now getting underway in Los Angeles, on the heels of the world premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, which will take place in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 24th.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released as two separate movies, Breaking Dawn Part I has a release date of November 18, 2011, and a summer 2012 release for Breaking Dawn Part II is being targeted. Director Bill Condon will shoot the two films back to back.

Breaking Dawn II will be released in 3-D, however no decision has been announced about Part I. A 3-D film can be created in two ways. One is to process the film in post-production editing using CGI for 3-D effects. The other method is to shoot the film with special 3-D cameras, such as the film Avatar was done using Sony HDC-F950 3-D cameras. It is not known which method Condon will use, but it is highly likely he will shoot using the special 3-D cameras since the effects are far superior.

Filming begins November 2010, and it now appears likely that shooting will take place in the state of Louisiana. There is a very large amount of filming that takes place in Louisiana due to the large tax credits that the state offers the studios. Louisiana offers a 30% transferable incentive for total in-state expenditures related to the production of a motion picture. The budget on both parts of Breaking Dawn will be substantially greater than the previous installments in the series, therefore Summit Entertainment would benefit greatly by filming in Louisiana, and low key negotiations with the state film commission are taking place.

'Breaking Dawn' to be Split into 2 Films and Both Directed by Bill Condon

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will now be released as two separate films, not one. The first film will be released on November 18th, 2011. Bill Condon will direct both films which will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Melissa Rosenberg is writing the script.

Meanwhile, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is due out on June 30th, 2010.

Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,

I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I'm stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you've probably heard, I've been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit - who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.

I'm pretty busy bringing myself up to speed on what you already know by heart: I've read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine's and Chris's movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine's notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz's companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk - a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for "newborn" status in the universe you've been living inside for a few years now, but a guy's gotta start somewhere.

Like many of you, I've always been slightly obsessed with vampires, dating back to the prime-time series DARK SHADOWS, which I followed avidly as a kid. But that alone hadn't been enough to get me interested in making a vampire movie, even though my early screenwriting and directing efforts grew out of a great love for horror movies and thrillers. Since making GODS AND MONSTERS thirteen years ago, however, I've been yearning for a return to a story with Gothic overtones.

The wonderful world that Stephenie has created has obviously struck a chord with you, and I don't think it's difficult to see why. For me, her characters are simultaneously timeless, yet very modern. Rooted in a beautiful, real landscape with a great sense of place, Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the rest of the Forks/La Push menagerie, experience emotions that are primal, and universal: desire, despair, jealousy - and it all comes to fruition in BREAKING DAWN. This is a final chapter in the best sense; not just wide in scope and scale, but emotionally charged and intense throughout.

I'm a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?

Director Bill Condon Confirmed for Breaking Dawn!

After months of rumors (and a few of my own speculations), we finally know who will be handling the final chapter in the Twilight saga. Bill Condon has just been confirmed as the director of Breaking Dawn.

He said, "I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book — and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience."

Condon is an interesting pick given his resume, which includes Kinsey, Gods and Monsters, and Dreamgirls — will the Cullens break out in song and dance? But Condon is an Oscar winner, so it seems like the project is in capable hands, especially given the script challenges.

I guess this rules out Robert Pattinson as director, but what do you think, Twilight fans?
