Robert Pattinson appears on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show Wednesday, and the actor discusses one of the important issues of the day: namely, that brand-new haircut.

"I got a terrible infestation of nits and I had to shave it all off," joked Pattinson before revealing his chopped off his locks three days ago for his role in Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon.

And then after a brief digression into the world of nits, gnats and lice, the actor had something else to reveal...

Working that self-deprecating charm, Pattinson talked about the difficulties of being shy and having to speak in public. (Though just like on Oprah, he didn't seem to be having any shyness problems speaking in public on this show.)

"I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you're saying. I've always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth," said Pattison. "Yeah, being spontaneous or just thinking. I have a problem with thinking."

"Just thinking, period?" asked Ellen.

"Thinking in real time," clarified Pattinson, somewhat proving his point. But at least he has plenty of time to think about what he said before the interview airs Wednesday.

Everyone’s favorite vampire, Robert Pattinson, returned to “Ellen” this afternoon to tape an appearance that will air tomorrow.

Gossip Cop has learned some of the visit’s highlights from a source in the studio:

*** An audience member was blindfolded and instructed to “feel up” three guys to guess which one was Pattinson. She got it wrong.

*** Pattinson told the host he begins shooting Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon on Thursday.

*** He jokingly told DeGeneres he got a haircut because he had “nits.” She told him that Americans call them “lice.”

*** Also in jest: Pattinson said People magazine got it wrong — he’s more beautiful than Julia Roberts.

*** Will Smith gave Pattinson advice about presenting at the Oscars: “Don’t try and be funny.” Wait until you’ve done it 6 times.

RPattz to Appear on Ellen May 19th!

Robert Pattinson is set to take another bite out of daytime.

The Eclipse vampire will join Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show in an episode airing Wednesday, May 19, Gossip Cop can confirm. It will be taped the previous day.

It isn’t the first “Ellen” engagement for Pattinson. The star appeared on the program back in November while promoting New Moon. That was the interview in which he described a woman in a public crowd getting naked to get his attention.

Gossip Cop will have more scoops as the June 30 Eclipse release nears.
