'Twilight' and 'Eclipse' Soundtrack Artists Nominated for VMAs

Several of the artists featured on the official soundtracks for Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and/or The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have been nominated for 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

Hayley Williams, lead singer for Paramore (from the Twilight soundtrack), worked with B.o.B. on "Airplanes," and the two have been nominated in several categories for the work ("Best Collaboration," "Best Male Video," and "Video of the Year"). Paramore, too, was nominated for "Best Rock Video" for "Ignorance."

Also nominated in the "Best Rock Video" category are Muse (from Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse's soundtracks) for "Uprising" and Florence + The Machine (from the Eclipse soundtrack) for "Dog Days Are Over."

Muse also picked up a "Best SFX (Special Effects)" nomination for the song, and Florence + The Machine got nominated for "Video of the Year," "Best Art Direction," and "Best Cinematography."

Finally, The Black Keys (Eclipse OST contributors) received a nomination for "Breakthrough Video" for "Tighten Up."

The full list of VMA nominations for 2010 can be found here.

Is Sia ('Eclipse' Soundtrack Contributor) Team Edward or Jacob?

Australian songstress Sia contributes one of the stellar original tracks to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, which hits stores and online retailers today. Below, Sia tells us about her track, "My Love," and who she's rooting for to end up with Bella.

1. Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Team Edward

2. If you were a vampire, what would you want your special power to be?
The ability to communicate with dogs!

3. What is the inspiration for your song on the Eclipse soundtrack?
My friend Oli Kraus and I we're inspired to write a beautiful love song. This song really turned out sounding almost like a hymn and lullaby... something to sing you to sleep.

4. What songs are part of your personal summer soundtrack?
The soundtrack to my summer is music by M.E.N., Ponytail and, of course, "The Macarena."

Of course! Thanks so much, Sia! For more on the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, go to www.eclipsethesoundtrack.com.

Eclipse Soundtrack - June 8th Release

The soundtrack to the "Twilight: Eclipse" film will be released on June 8, according to Amazon.

Atlantic/Chop Shop has confirmed the date, though a rep did not indicate what artists have and will make the cut.

Muse has been the oft-repeated rumored artist to be included, considering the band contributed track to the first two "Twilight" films. However, Muse drummer Dominic Howard told Dose early last month that, while the band was prepping a "love song" for the release, it was ultimately dropped.

"It’s the people in the movie business -- completely outside of the writers and the creative types, the non-creative types I suppose -- are the people who are quite hard to deal with in Hollywood, so it didn’t work out," Howard said. The British space-rock outfit will hold on to the untitled track for a future release.

Adam Lambert threw his hat in the ring late last year as he released "For Your Entertainment," saying his song "Suburban Decay" would fit perfectly into the vampire flick. No word yet what the "Twilight" music folks think of the submission.

Director David Slade is helming this effort, the third movie in the "Twilight" series, and Alexandra Patsavas is back as music supervisor; their favorite acts may be the next to hop on the soundtrack series, so somebody tap into their iPods, already.

The last two "Twilight" soundtracks -- the first film and sequel "New Moon" -- both went multi-platinum.

"Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is due in theaters June 30.
